Pediatric Remote Patient Monitoring can be a very useful tool for the care of young people, and one that helps in connecting the patient, their family, and their care providers with different types of healthcare services. Remote Patient Monitoring technologies help pediatric patients manage their condition using tools that they are familiar with, for virtual visits, medication management, symptom surveys, and biologic monitoring. For the family or caregiver, remote patient monitoring provides necessary access to up-to-date patient data.
Remote Patient Monitoring for children provides the benefits associated with bridging distance and location, while also aiding in improved outcomes and reducing total cost of care.
The Pros of Remote Patient Monitoring for Kids
Adaptability and expanded admittance – with pediatric remote patient monitoring, the patient and their family see the same information that the care team do, whenever they need to. The boundaries of travel time and area are taken out. Exploring pediatric care considerations can be difficult for some families—pediatric remote patient monitoring empowers the patient and their family to get to their care team when it works for them. The parent or guardian doesn’t need to organize (and pay) for transportation or take off work, and regularly, the child doesn’t need to be pulled out of school for an in-person visit. Pediatric remote patient monitoring empowers patients to get to experts that they in any case would not be able to because of geographic restrictions or different boundaries.
Solace – for most kids, home is a position of solace and comfort. With remote patient monitoring, children can get care at home where they are generally agreeable, instead of a new center or hospital.
Direct help – remote patient monitoring works by providing direct help right when the patient requires it. 24 hours per day, the young person and their family can reach out to their care team.
CENSON® Pediatric Remote Patient Monitoring supports health monitoring of single or multiple long-term conditions including:
CENSON® can be used effectively in the management of numerous long-term conditions, and has proven successful in helping patients with COPD. Many COPD patients lead lives shrouded in anxiety and worry. They feel anxious when they have difficulty breathing, and they worry about getting pneumonia and having to be hospitalized – again. Family members of COPD patients often feel burdened as well, especially when they are unable to help loved ones who are suffering. Knowing that there is no cure for COPD, and that things will not get better – only worse – makes it difficult for patients to keep up their spirits and live life to the fullest extent possible. CENSON® helps patients and family members become active team players in maintaining the patient’s quality of life, by using scheduled monitoring of health vitals and scheduled answering of COPD-related questions that is available in the unique clinical workflow.
Patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) run a high risk of exacerbation and repeated hospitalization.
By using CENSON® for long-term chronic disease self-management, patients’ lives can be dramatically improved. Using CENSON® in the management of CHF offers these benefits:
- Dramatically reduced number and length of hospital stays
- Stabilization of patients while improving their quality of life
- Reduced risk of complications
- Inhibits deterioration of patient’s overall condition
CENSON® is changing the course of diabetes care by providing an effective solution that helps to improve patients’ lives. With the CENSON® solution, the need for log books is eliminated. Remote monitoring of blood glucose levels helps health care providers improve patients’ glycemic control, prevents or delays complications, and reduces potential health risks by addressing warning signs early.
CENSON®saves you time and integrates data from Medtronic, Tandem, Omnipod, Dexcom, Libre, and more.

CENSON® now offers valuable asthma management with the Asthma Control Test and Peak Flow measurement using a peak flow meter device. After completing measurements the patient will receive an evaluation of their current condition and how well he manages and treats his asthma. The patient will be notified if he has trouble managing his asthma and must seek help. Test and measurements will teach self-monitoring to an individual patient or a group of patients, which in turn can lead to fewer ER visits and hospitalizations.
The solution also supports videoconference – a valuable tool for asthma treatment. Measurement of lung function and monitoring of blood oxygen and other vital signs are all part of CENSON®’s home monitoring of asthma.
Fetal monitoring is one common use of CENSON® telemonitoring
CENSON® can collect clinical health data from pregnant women at home or in other remote locations. The fetal monitoring health data is available in real time on the CENSON® portal. Based on clinical review, necessary actions can be taken upon data that is beyond the individual patient’s allowable parameters.
Providing accurate fetal monitoring information, CENSON® is also a fully-featured remote patient monitoring and diagnostics platform. The patient is walked through a series of instructions, assessments (such as blood pressure, glucose levels, and weight) and diagnostic questions specific to their management. It’s as if the patient is in the clinic with the doctor.

CENSON® supports screening of a large set of individuals using a unique clinical workflow concept.
Screening interventions are designed to identify disease in a community early, thus enabling earlier intervention and management in the hope of reducing mortality and suffering from a disease.
The clinical workflows can be designed and customized on the CENSON® web portal by doctors, and using the CENSON® mobile app, the patient can access and answer health-related questions and conduct measurements as requested in the clinical workflow. The patient’s answer and measurements can be viewed either on the platform or imported into a third-party system using the CENSON® REST interfaces.

Food prescriptions are part of a broader concept of social prescribing. Pioneered in the United Kingdom and growing in popularity in the United States and Canada, social prescriptions are issued by health-care practitioners to provide patients with non-pharmaceutical interventions, including dance classes, walking groups, volunteer work, art lessons and, of course, fresh fruits and vegetables.
Medical nutrition therapy (MNT) is a key component of diabetes education and management. MNT is defined as a “nutrition-based treatment provided by a registered dietitian nutritionist.” It includes “a nutrition diagnosis as well as therapeutic and counseling services to help manage diabetes.
